Any free virus software that support Win98SE?

It is my dad’s machine. He uses it to play cards and check agribusiness websites. He will not retire it because of the stats on the 80,000 games of FreeCell. My machine networked into his and now I got a file called
_scan32.bat
Located at these places.
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temp
I think it is blocking MalwareBytes from updating. The install version calls it a Malware Trace. When I try to open up the Temp directory, the plus sign automatically disappears when the mouse hits it, then an hour glass then a popup asking if I want to format my C drive. Nope.
Currently did a Safe Boot with Networking and running a full scan.
I read some reports that said it might have come out again last September. Any free virus out there that can check my dads Win98SE machine? Both MalwareBytes and AVG say no. I was wondering if anyone was running those programs anyway on a Win98 machine.

You can download MacroVirus anti virus for you PC protection. This is best for any kind of operating system and windows. Or you can also download a very latest anti virus for your PC protection on webdesigningcompany.net site.

98 is no longer supported by windows and so he should not be using it to browse the web at all. Get him a new computer with Windows 7 for that type of work and let him use the old one for offline games. This is MUCH safer.

Also be aware that Windows has the Security Essentials for free which will protect you against malware and viruses. If you want something a touch better, go with Eset NOD32.

Running an old machine on the network will easily allow a virus to get though to any computer…even with a router installed…which is also a good hardware based firewall BTW.

Avast:

Free for home use:

But easiest way to clean-up temp files is to use CCleaner (Crap Cleaner):

Avast! is free, and still supports win98. However, support is only scheduled to be maintained for the rest of 2009…
